ALL ELECTRIC VOLTS-WAGON

“Not built to be a show car, just a conversation piece to share with other car enthusiasts.”

Build description

my inspiration

On October 2, 2006, my good friend and neighbor, Bill Field, and I hooked up to a trailer and made a road trip to North Carolina, to pick up a junk VW body that I had purchased on Ebay.  Over the next 9 years, it was moved around behind my garage, then stored inside Bill’s race car trailer.  We regularly discussed all the different ways to go with the build.  Having already put a big block engine in a VW Bug and a twin turbo big block in a VW Karmann Ghia, what would be next?  No matter how wild and unusual my ideas were, Bill was always positive and encouraged me to build what ever I envisioned.

After Bill passed away suddenly in September of 2015, I realized it was time to stop talking about it and build another car.  I decided to combine my career (designing and troubleshooting electric motor controls) with my passion (designing and building my own race cars) and build an electric car, that I wish Bill could have seen.  Complete with his own Hilborn fuel injection sticking out of the hood (graciously donate by his wife Bonnie).
